It is set in 1700 square metres of lush, sub tropical gardens and has fabulous rural views. The villa is located a ten minute drive to the beautiful town of Loulé, which has a variety of amenities. In the other direction a short drive takes you to the charming town of Almancil, which is famous for its superb restaurants. The fabulous beaches of Quinta do Lago and Vale de Lobo are within easy driving distance.
InteriorThis magnificent villa is of a very high standard and it is extremely light and spacious throughout. The living room has stylish leather sofas, a formal dining area, a mini pool table and patio doors leading to a covered terrace. The separate, country-style kitchen is well-equipped with modern appliances and has a breakfast table. Villa Mateus has four beautifully decorated bedrooms. There are two double bedrooms on the ground floor, which share a family bathroom. On the first floor, the two remaining bedrooms have double beds, en-suite shower rooms and patio doors leading to a shared balcony, which offers distant sea views. Villa Mateus benefits from air conditioning and heating units in all rooms which is an optional extra and to be paid for locally.
ExteriorSurrounded by mature gardens filled with orange and mango trees, the exterior of this villa is very private with a calm and tranquil feel. Patio doors from the living room lead out to a covered dining terrace, which provides much welcome shade in this warm climate. This area overlooks the impressive swimming pool, which can be entered by either roman or ladder steps.
AmenitiesVilla Mateus is just outside the historic town of Loulé, where there is a selection of shops, traditional bars, restaurants and a supermarket. On Saturday there is a street market, with locals selling many items, including gifts and souvenirs. It is less than a ten minute drive to the town of Almancil, which is known for its remarkable restaurants and friendly locals. The area surrounding the villa offers miles of world class golf courses, suitable for any level of player. The fabulous resort of Vale de Lobo, which has a seemingly endless, white, sandy beach, is less than a twenty minute drive. Here there are a selection of exclusive beach bars and restaurants, with live music in the evenings. A little more than a twenty minute drive takes you to the prestigious resort of Vilamoura with its stylish and sophisticated marina. It is lined with an abundant choice of pavement cafes, international restaurants and bars, as well as fabulous, designer boutiques. Excellent marine excursions leave from here, including big game fishing, charter yachts and dolphin spotting.
ServicesThere is maid service twice a week with a mid week towel change. For guests staying longer than 1 week there is a weekly linen change.
