Dar Ta Celina is only 1.5 kilometres from the pretty central square with a few local restaurants and bars and is only a few minutes drive to the beach at Ramla Bay and a variety of interesting historical, cultural and sporting attractions. For larger groups Dar Ta Angelica is adjacent.
InteriorThis two storey village farmhouse has been decorated with good quality local furnishings, which complement the beautiful lime stone walls and rich woodwork. Traditional high ceilings add to the feel of airiness and space. It has a comfortable open plan living and dining room with a picturesque stone archway and doors leading to the terrace and swimming pool. There is an adjacent well equipped kitchen. This attractive farmhouse has three good-sized bedrooms. One with twin beds is located on the ground floor and has access to a bathroom. The master bedroom is on the first floor and has a double bed, an en-suite bathroom and a private balcony. Also on this floor is a bedroom with twin beds, a bunk bed and access to a bathroom.
ExteriorPatio doors in the living room lead out to a secluded, walled terrace which has a barbecue and patio furniture for hours of al fresco dining in the warm Gozo climate. It surrounds the 7.5 x 3.5m swimming pool which is entered by roman steps.
AmenitiesDar Ta Celina is located within the picturesque Gozitan village of Xaghra, is rich in historical heritage and an excellent base from which to explore the Ggantia (Place of Giants), nearby Xerri’s Grotto and also Ninu’s Cave which are both in the village along with the Windmill Museum and the Pomskizillious Museum of Toys. The villa is 1.5 kilometres from the delightful tree lined square at the centre of the village with a couple of traditional restaurants and bars where you can sit and enjoy a drink with the very friendly locals. The square is dominated by the beautiful church of Our Lady of Victory which is adorned with marble and its main attraction is the statue of the young Virgin Mary, nicknamed il Bambina, that was brought from Marseilles in 1878. In Xaghra itself there is a pharmacy, a bakery and two banks with cash point services. The village is encircled by the beautiful bays of Ramla, Ghajn Barrani and Marsalforn and offers fantastic views of the surrounding Gozitan landscape. Ramla with its honey-red sand is the nearest beach 5 minutes drive away and is by far the most popular beach on the Gozo. Nothing is too far away on Gozo and the capital of Victoria is only a 10 minutes drive away. It is dominated by the ancient Citadel, a visit to which is considered a must for all visitors to the island. From the Citadel you can enjoy an unparalleled view of the whole island. In the centre of the capital is the square Piazza Indipendenza where you will find an open-air market every morning surrounded by busy pavement cafes. Just off of the main square is the magnificent St. George's Basilica. Here you can see a fantastic audio visual show known as Gozo 360 degrees. Gozo is famous for diving and divers come from all over the world to enjoy the crystal clear pristine waters that surround the island namely the Blue Hole, Azure Window and Reqqa Reef. The gateway to Gozo, charming Mgarr Harbour, is 10 minutes drive away and has a selection of typical restaurants and from the adjacent marina you can enjoy fishing and boat trips around this tiny island known as the Jewel of the Mediterranean.
