Playa Blanca and Area

Playa Blanca and Area Villas
The resort of Playa Blanca is situated in the south of Lanzarote and the area is largely surrounded by the sea. The region is home to some of the most magnificent, un-spoilt beaches in Spain, the Papagayo beaches. Located about an eight minute drive outside the resort they are a protected nature reserve. They have no facilities and are kept as nature intended, pure and golden with wonderful views to the neighbouring island of Fuerteventura. There is superb snorkeling in this area in and around the crags and rocks.

To the north of the resort and overlooking it are some charming and typical Canarian villages. The village of Las Brenas, with its breathtaking views is a five minute drive stand and a few minutes further you reach the pretty, hilltop village of Femes. This has a few good local restaurants, a lovely church and look-out over the whole of Playa Blanca and the sea. A ten minute drive takes you to Las Salinas, the seafront saltpans, considered to be among the most important in the world, which are a fascinating sight. Further along you pass through astonishing, dramatic scenery of molten lava towards the village of El Golfo, on the west coast, on the same latitude as Florida. Here you can spend happy hours in one of the restaurants specialising in local fish and watch as the sea comes crashing onto the surrounding cliffs and rocks. The Los Clicos green lagoon, created by a half-submerged volcanic crater, is located here and is worth a visit.

If you only go and see one sight while on holiday in Lanzarote, you must go and see the quite unbelievably, amazing "Fire Mountains" in the Tmanfaya National Park and get on the bus to tour the area. A thirteen klilometre route through breathtaking, startling images of volcanic formations awaits you. Playa Blanca is a perfect choice for a holiday of total relaxation, outstanding beaches, good quality villa accommodation and the option to experience some of the best of Lanzarote.

Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is on the southern tip of Lanzarote and used to be a sleepy fishing village. It has experienced a significant level of sympathetic development over recent years and is now a stylish tourist resort with an array of luxurious holiday accommodation which has managed to maintain a centre filled with charm and character. At the heart of Playa Blanca is a pedestrian avenue with an excellent selection of shops. Along the seafront is a pretty promenade which is lined with a superb choice of bars and restaurants. There is a pretty golden beach in the town centre which slopes gently into the crystal clear sea. The harbour at Playa Blanca is the departure point for many excursions, including ferry trips to the neighbouring islands of Fuerteventura and Lobos.

Only two kilometres from the centre of Playa Blanca is the world famous Papagayo beach which is totally unspoilt and is reputedly one of the most beautiful beaches in the Canary Islands. The new Marina Rubicon opened in 2004 and is a stylish setting for watching boats come and go whilst enjoying a meal at one of the many restaurants or bars and shopping in some of the designer shops. There is a large selection of shops and supermarkets and there are many excellent restaurants. Playa Blanca has some superb very shallow beaches which are perfect for small children. We have 30 villas in Playa Blanca.
