Marbella and Area
 The area of Marbella is a perfect all-round holiday destination. Although it is known as the hunting ground of the rich and famous it has an enormous amount to offer everyone. The centre-point of the region is the city of Marbella with its enchanting old town. The famous, bustling Plaza de los Naranjos is full of locals and tourists sipping a glass of wine shaded by sweet smelling orange trees, depicting a typical Andalucian scene. Horse drawn carriages can be hired to take you through the colourful, narrow, cobble-stone streets of the area. Avenida del Mar leads down to the sea and is only a couple of minutes walk from the centre of town.
The new section of the town leads onto the rebound Golden Mile with lovely beaches and a sophisticated life-style. It is an area densely populated by millionaires and celebrities who congregate in the famous Puerto Banus marina. International, luxurious designer shops are everywhere in this area and add to the vibrant atmosphere.
A promenade stretches along the beach and marina. An abundance of excellent restaurants and bars along the way provide a perfect setting from where to watch the spectacular display of super-yachts coming and going. From here you can join an excursion on a Catamaran and enjoy a day on the glittering, blue sea looking back at Spain's southern coast. The area is famous for its excellent choice of holiday accommodation ranging from good quality apartments to some of the most luxurious villas on offer. Set in extensive, tropical gardens many overlook prestigious golf courses, others are in superb front line sea locations.

Calahonda Many beautiful villas and apartments are located in the hillside resort of Calahonda which is just a fifteen minute drive east of Marbella and twenty minutes from Malaga airport. Car hire in this location is not essential, but would enhance your holiday experience. It would enable you to visit many out of the way attractions and stunning, picturesque villages such nearby Mijas. A local road-train takes you around Calahonda for a small fee making it easy to get around and brings you within approximately five minutes walk of the beach. Supermarkets, banks and shops are located in the El Zoco commercial centre at the foot of Calahonda and the area has an excellent selection of restaurants. Neighbouring Riviera del Sol also has a large commercial centre and in addition probably one of the nicest Chiringuito beach bars on the coast. About a ten minute drive takes you to beautiful Cabopino marina where there are many good restaurants overlooking the yacht and the sea. There is a lovely beach with a Chiringuito where the local custom of barbecuing freshly caught sardines on the beach in sand filled fishing boats is an added attraction. West of here is one of Spain's few naturist beaches Playa de las Dunas-Carin. Excellent water sports facilities are available on the local beaches and Miraflores and La Cala golf courses are nearby. Riviera del Sol Riviera is located on the Costa del Sol in Spain between Marbella and Fuengirola, sloping down the mountainside to the beach. The Miraflores golf course is situated there and the area has become a desirable, residential and holiday location with a golf school, tennis club and bowling green. At the foot of the hill, along the main road there is a commercial centre with several small stores, restaurants, great bars and a new supermarket which is open till late. Banks, shops, a chemist and reflexology centre are all at hand. In addition there is the popular Princess Diana Park with beautiful, well maintained tropical, gardens. The beach, with one of the best beach bars on the coast can be reached by foot from the commercial centre, through an underpass. A short drive will bring you to the charming marina of Cabopino which offers a variety of water sports facilities, excellent restaurants and a lovely beach. Nueva Andalucia Nueva Andalucia is located ten kilometres west of Marbella, on the mountainside of Puerto Banus. This beautiful and exclusive residential area of villas and apartments was built according to traditional Andalucian architecture and design. It is located in the famous Costa del Sol golf valley which consists of Aloha, Las Brisas, Los Naranjos, Dama de Noche and La Quinta golf courses. They are all set on a beautiful mountain side commanding superb views of the local country side. At night Dama de Noche is lit up and allows golfers to enjoy playing twenty four hours a day. The bullring is situated next to the commercial centre of Centro Plaza where there is also a variety of restaurants, supermarkets, shops and a gym. Elviria Elviria is situated between Marbella and Malaga. It is about half an hour away from the airport and only ten minutes into Marbella. There are several 5-star hotels in this area as well as the Costa del Sol hospital. Elviria is set in a lively area with several tranquil apartment complexes. Puerto Banus Puerto Banús lies about six kilometres west of Marbella. As a harbour, it offers all kinds of accommodation ranging from apartments to luxury villas. Puerto Banús enjoys a beautiful setting, with its stunning mountain backdrop and excellent views to the Spanish coast. During the day, it is a shoppers dream with some of the most famous haute couture shops, boutiques of all kinds and colourful bric-a-brac shops, turning into a lively cosmopolitan port in the evening, blessed with an abundance of bars and clubs to suit all tastes. It really is an experience not to be missed, and it’s easy to enjoy a pleasant evening wandering up and down the marina pontoons, and then sit in one of the many bars, watching the world go by.
