Larnaca and Area

Larnaca and Area Villas
Larnaca is one of the major resorts and the oldest town in Cyprus and a great place to take a villa holiday. There are numerous beaches in and around Larnaca which extend for approx 25 km. The main Phinikoudes and McKenzie beaches both have been awarded Blue Flags for environmental cleanliness and in summer sports and sea activities are readily available.
Larnacas international airport lies a few kilometers from the town centre so it and its surrounding areas are undoubtedly easily accessible to the visitor and make the ideal base for exploring the rest of Cyprus. Also because of the mild climate in the winter and the genuine hospitality of the local people, Larnaca makes an ideal holiday destination year round.
Whilst the archaeological sites and its six museums are in the centre of the town, the main focus is on the promenade with its impressive palm trees and a wide selection of restaurants with attractive outdoor terraces and magnificent sea views. The city really is a fascinating blend of old and new and Zinonos Kitieos Street is the heart of main shopping district. Here there is a mixture of shops selling tourist goods as well as clothes shops catering for local residents. These include a Marks&Spencer in its familiar colours!
If archeology is your thing then a holiday near Larnaca should not be completed without exploring the ruins of Kition - the ancient city Larnaca is built on. Include a look at one of the several museums and the 17th century fort, start here and continue exploring the narrow streets of the old Turkish quarter, now home to crafts and ceramics workshops.
In Larnaca you will find cuisine to suit all palates including restaurants, tavernas, cafeterias and bars ranging from 'traditional Irish pubs' through international chains like McDonalds to local Cypriot fare. The Cypriot 'meze', a seemingly endless selection of local dishes, is the food specialty of the town and a must try for all visitors. Cultural life is rich and many events are organized by the town's Municipality almost daily plus there is a 6 screen cinema on the edge of the town where films are shown in English with Greek subtitles.
In and around Larnaca you will also find water parks, a camel park, private motor cruise boat hire, horse riding, hot air balloon trips and don’t forget the capital of the island Nicosia is also well worth a visit.

Oroklini

The traditional Cypriot village of Oroklini (also locally known as Voroklini) is situated just eight kilometers East of Larnaca town in a slightly elevated position. It has become one of the islands most popular residential locations, the main reasons for this are the same ones our guests enjoy; namely it's accessibility to Larnaca’s town, the countries main international airport, it's picturesque setting as well as it's easy going atmosphere.
The heart of Oroklini 's social life is based around narrow local streets which are laden with family restaurants and taverns playing the characteristic Greek Cypriot tunes, serving traditional local dishes to locals and visitors alike.
An ample supply of small stores are available to satisfy your everyday needs and you will find time and again that “philoxenia” (hospitality and friendship toward a guests) is a time honoured rule in the Village of Oroklini. The local beach is a ten minute walk; a pedestrianised street about 850 meters in length leads you there and a couple of seafront bars line the front. The sandy shoreline here is more than two and a half kilometres long and it is mainly thin-grain sand with a few scattered patches of multi-coloured shingle.
A short drive to the top of the hills leads you to the small church of Profites Elias and from here you can see spectacular views of Larnaca Bay and the surrounding countryside.
Oroklini is surrounded by other equally quaint villages, such as Kiti which has won the Best Kept Village in Cyprus award more than once and Liopetri, whose central square boasts lovely flower bed displays. Also in close proximity is the village of Tersefanou which is due to have a new 18 hole golf course built and Horse riding and go-karting are also available nearby. We have 1 villas in Oroklini.
