Ghasri
Ghasri lies between the hills of Zebbug and Ghammar in the north east of Gozo. Dominating Ghasri is the Ta Gordan lighthouse and from here you can enjoy marvellous 360 degree views of the island. From Ghasri village square, a road leads to a beautiful gorge called Wied il Ghasri which is popular for walking and cycling. The valley ends in the sea, between high cliffs where a secluded little inlet makes it ideal for swimming, snorkelling and diving.
Ghasri is only a ten to fifteen minute drive from the larger village of Marsalforn which is the most popular resort on the island. Here holiday makers can enjoy swimming in the clear blue waters and sunbathing on the pretty pebbly beach. Marsalforn offers a very good selection of bars and restaurants and is the perfect place to enjoy al fresco dining. Gozo’s capital, Victoria with its magnificent basilica and its labyrinth of tiny streets, is only a five to ten minute drive away.
